“Comfa-Spelling” Contest. Are you a spelling pro? Es un concurso que fortalece y amplía el vocabulario de los estudiantes de la región. Además, pone a prueba la habilidad y destreza de los mismos para memorizar y deletrear el vocabulario en inglés adquirido. El concurso se enfatiza en el uso correcto de la pronunciación y ortografía de las palabras en el idioma inglés. Para su efecto, se dispone de los listados de las categorías aquí en la página web del colegio.
Cabe resaltar que, para esta edición del concurso, la inscripción tendrá un valor de setenta mil pesos ($70.000 COP) por institución educativa. Este valor corresponde a la inscripción de cada colegio participante y le permitirá registrar hasta siete (7) estudiantes, distribuidos con un (1) representante por categoría, con excepción de la categoría STARTERS, en la cual se permitirá la inscripción de hasta dos (2) estudiantes. A continuación, se presentan las categorías correspondientes a esta edición:
El concurso se desarrollará de la siguiente forma

ROUND 1 (WRITTEN ROUND) |
Participants complete a written test with ten (10) words. The judge will spell five (5) words and pronounce the other five (5). Participants must write each word correctly on the answer sheet. |
Capitalization will not be considered. Only the correct spelling of each word will be evaluated. Only the participants with the highest scores will advance to the next round. |
WARM-UP TO SECOND ROUND |
Each participant completes two (2) practice words: one (1) guessing word and one (1) spelling word. |
This stage is for practice only and does not affect the competition results or classification. |
ROUND 2 (CLASSIFICATION) |
Each participant completes two (2) words in total: one (1) spelling word and one (1) guessing word. |
The participant must follow the corresponding procedure for each modality and complete the response within the time limit established for their category. |
ROUND 3 (ELIMINATORY) |
Each participant completes four (4) words in total: two (2) spelling words and two (2) guessing words, conducted in two separate moments: Moment 1: Spelling and Moment 2: Guessing. |
At the end of this round, the three (3) participants with the highest scores will advance to the Final Round. In case of a tie affecting qualification, the time used will be the tiebreaker. |
FINAL ROUND |
The three (3) finalists complete four (4) words in total: two (2) spelling words and two (2) guessing words, following the same structure as Round 3. |
The finalist with the highest score will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, the time used will be the tiebreaker. If necessary, an additional round may be conducted according to the contest rules. |
